Fishing

One of the first things you will see when you arrive at one of the lodges are the trophy fish lining the walls and you automatically conjure a scene where one of these fish are on your line. Every year it happens as trophies continue to roll in.

A special treat at the end of June to the 3rd week of July is fishing for Sockeye. Bead fish eggs patterns or yarn flies are productive on fly pole. Spin gear similar to Coho. Be prepared for a tough battle.

You can bring your own favorite fishing gear; especially if you have Alaskan experience you may have the right stuff. We furnish complete spinning gear for Kings and Coho. We have the lures that work.

If you plan fly-fishing, bring your own pole. Lures and flies vary from drainage water condition and species of fish. We will give a more detailed list, specific to your trip. We encourage you to buy some flies at the lodge, as they are specific to the area.

Rainbow fishing is primarily catch and release. We encourage single hook lures, when possible and barb-less or crimped barbs on flies.
